The Umbrian region of central Italy is bordered by Tuscany to the west, the Marche to the east and Lazio to the south. It is the only Italian region which is both landlocked and with no common boder with other countries. Umbria is the 4th smallest of Italy’s 20 regions in terms of size and population and produces only a third of the wines of neighbouring Tuscany. Orvieto is the region’s most significant DOC wine accounting for 2/3 of the total DOC production.
Our supplier whose estate is situated near the picturesque town of Orvieto in the heart of Umbria, has produced for us 2 dual varietal house wines under the Sollazzo label.
